Executive Vice President of Membership
Job Summary
The Executive Vice President of Membership (EVPM) assesses climate and demographics, manages the MSCC protected class training requirement, facilitates Membership Program Assemblies (MPA) with team and an annual unity breakfast/lunch during Leadership Launch. This position supervises two Vice Presidents of Membership (Community and Transitions). This position is expected to represent the MSCC at various functions and events at Texas A&M as assigned.
- M-PA: Works with VPs to create topics for Membership team business, trainings and/or other evolving topics as identified. Each member of team should present at M-PA as a content expert.
- Assessments: Works with Student Affairs, Planning, Research and Assessment (SAPAR) on:
- Demographics Dashboard (March) - Collects UINs for all MSCC members
- Climate Survey OR Climate Focus Group (February/March) - Facilitates a council-wide survey OR small focus group sessions to evaluate climate in the organization
- Makes informed recommendations about on membership team efforts based on assessment results
- Unity Event: Plans/Facilitates a Unity event in conjunction with Leadership Launch (April)
- Protected Class Trainings: Manages each committees completion of one training per semester.
- Oversees the passback process across all MSCC Officers, ensuring everyone has access to a passback template and that passback documents are being passed down.
- Member Management for MSCC Officers (VP and above):
- Becomes content expert related to Get Involved member management to assist E-Team
- Implements all aspects of the MSCC selection process for VP and above positions
- Creates a recruitment plan for VP and above positions
Minimum Requirements
- One year of MSCC experience or any collegiate leadership equivalent.
Significant changes or additional functions for this position in the upcoming year
- Changed MSCC Diversity to MSCC Membership
- Vice Presidents of Membership now may oversee teams
- Manage the MSCC Membership training requirement

Required MSC Council Officer Responsibilities
- Represent the MSC Council: As a student leader in the MSC Council, your actions are a direct reflection and representation of the organization and our values. Committee Chairs have the responsibility of directing their committee’s programs and goals to ensure alignment with those of the MSC Council.
- Alignment with the MSC Programs mission: MSC Programs will prioritize support for programs, experiences, and student leadership opportunities that reflect and align with its mission of engaging students in providing purposefully designed campus programs and service opportunities that prepare them to be global leaders.
- Attend Weekly Monday Night Meetings: When creating your academic schedule, please be mindful of your requirement to attend Program Assembly meetings every Monday night from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
- Complete the full Academic Year: MSC Officer positions are meant to be performed for the full academic year including the Summer.
- Attend Mandatory Leadership Launch & Leadership Refresher: Every year the MSCC hosts two leadership development meetings in April and August respectively.
- Understand the Student-Staff Partnership: Each committee is assigned an advisor by MSC Programs. Through that advisor, MSC Programs and the MSC Council are committed to strong student/staff partnerships and built upon the idea that there is mutuality in teaching and learning and that advisors and students see each other as a resource; each group offering what it uniquely can provide.
